Report Cards

The new EUSD report card was sent to families on January 27. Below you will find helpful resources that provide insight into the new report card, the process in its creation, and how it better supports the district's learner profile and framework for the future.  We will continue to make refinements to the report card based on feedback from parents, staff, and students as we move forward in this process.

Report Card Update To Families

April 21, 2025

Dear EUSD Families,

Thank you for your support as we continue to refine and improve our report card. We recognize that this represents a significant shift in how student learning is communicated, and we truly value the time many of you took to share your experiences and concerns. While we are moving forward with a standards-based grading system—designed to reflect where students are in relation to state standards—we are committed to making this system more transparent, easier to understand, and more useful in supporting your child’s growth.

We want to reassure you that this change in how we approach assessment is not a reduction in rigor, but rather a commitment to deeper, more meaningful learning that maintains—and often enhances—the quality of education our students receive. Our assessment practices remain robust and varied. Students continue to participate in both formal and informal assessments, including tests, projects, quizzes, writing samples, and more. These assessments are scored and directly aligned to grade-level standards and are used not only to determine proficiency but also to guide feedback and instruction. Students have multiple opportunities to show what they know, and teachers consider the most recent and consistent evidence when communicating progress on the report card. Additionally, the new report card is supported by the recent implementation of student-led conferences, which provide further valuable insights.
