Teachers of the Year named

Encinitas has a noteworthy tradition of recognizing and honoring its teachers through the Teacher of the Year program. The Teacher of the Year program celebrates and pays special tribute to the tireless efforts of our outstanding teachers. In doing so, the program brings well-deserved recognition to the whole teaching staff in the Encinitas Union School District. This year, each school site selected a Teacher of the Year. More>>

 

Classified Employees of the Year named

Each year, the Encinitas Union School District recognizes outstanding classified employees in the District.  Each school site selects a Classified Employee of the Year based on a variety of criteria including motivation on the job, job performance, cooperation with others, knowledge of the job, school and community service, willingness to take the extra step, and outstanding characteristics, achievements, and contributions to the betterment of the school site and the District.  Each of the Classified Employees of the Year personifies the high quality of employee in the Encinitas Union School District.  Moreover, their selection reflects the high regard their peers have for them and their contributions to the site and District. Congratulations to Gregg Sonken , Certificated Administrator of the Year, and Sher Hoff , Classified Administrator of the Year. Gregg is Principal at Mission Estancia School. Sher is Executive Assistant in Educational Services. More>>

 

 

Encinitas teachers earn prestigious National Board Certification

Six teachers in the Encinitas Union School District were honored by the Board of Trustees at the January 19, 2010, Board meeting. They include Debbie Burke, Nancy Greene, Pat Keene, Ann Swan, Sandra Switzer-Chapman, and Sue Liesegang. More>>

 

 

New Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services Selected for the Encinitas Union School District

At the August 18 th meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Encinitas Union School District, Dr. Tim Baird, Superintendent, recommended Dr. David   Miyashiro as the new Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services. More>>

 

 

Encinitas Union School District Selects New Superintendent

On May 1, 2009 the Encinitas Union School District’s Board of Education selected Dr. Timothy Baird as Superintendent. A validation team from the district representing the Board, management, certificated and classified staff, and parents will be visiting Dr. Baird’s district later this week.

Director of Pupil Personnel Services Selected in the Encinitas Union School District

ENCINITAS - At the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees on February 17, 2009, Dr. Lean King, Superintendent, announced the selection of Maria Waskin as the new Director of Pupil Personnel Services in the Encinitas Union School District. Ms. Waskin will replace Irene Elliott who will retire from her position as Director of Pupil Personnel Services effective March 1, 2009. More>>

Shannon Kuder Retires from EUSD Board after 16 years of Trustee Service

ENCINITAS -- Shannon Kuder, School Board member for the Encinitas Union School District since 1992, retires from office after 16 years of service.  Her Board seat will be filled by newly elected Board member, Maureen “Mo” Muir. Ms. Muir will be sworn in at the December 9, 2008, Board meeting.

Encinitas Union School District Wins Golden Bell Award

Encinitas, CA-- Encinitas Union School District will be honored in the Annual Golden Bell Awards program of the California School Boards Association. The award was won for the district’s Dual Language Immersion Program at Capri Elementary School.

Encinitas School Musical Donates Box Office to Fire Victims

Class-A.C.T., the Encinitas-based non-profit organization that provides arts programming for local schools is, in collaboration with Park Dale Players, presenting a community musical theatre production to be performed at Flora Vista Elementary School in Encinitas on Friday, November 2 at 7:00 P.M.
