Last spring, the district embarked on a process to involve staff and community in charting our course to the future.

A Strategic Planning Task Force was initiated with the appointment of a Core Planning team composed of parents, teachers, classified staff and administrators.

This team held a number of public forums to get broad-based input and reaction to the plan as it emerged. They conducted research, analyzed trend data, projected needs, and held lengthy dialogue and planning sessions to ensure an integrated approach to developing our strategic plan. Our Board members offered important insights and encouragement along the way.

We developed a plan to inspire a challenging, rigorous learning program for our children in an environment that nurtures each child’s personal best—and each adult’s as well. A portion of the plan, the Vision, Mission and Guiding Principles, appears inside beginning on page 4.

To convert the plan to action, a system of committees has been designed to provide staff and community input on an ongoing basis.

Inside you will find a list of committees and an application. If you’re interested in helping us develop our action plans, please file an application with my office.

Having this collective vision of our destination as we set out will help us be more effective and efficient as together we lift our children up to . . . reach for the stars!

"We developed a plan to inspire a challenging, rigorous learning program for our children . . . ."

Sincerely,

Patricia Clark White, Ed.D
District Superintendent
