Elaine Riley named
El Camino Creek Classified Employee of the Year

Elaine Riley, Classified Employee of the Year at El Camino Creek School, has served as an instructional aide in the special education program for the past 7 years. This includes 5 years at Ocean Knoll and 2 years at El Camino Creek.

Elaine's love for her job is apparent. She takes great pride in seeing her students learn new things. Her ability to know exactly how to approach students allows her to be successful in helping them. Students who work with her know she will be firm, but fair with them. Teachers find her to be easy to talk to and supportive of their instructional program. Elaine is willing to help in whatever capacity she is needed.

Putting in extra time to complete a task is something Elaine does without a second thought. She is creative and has great ideas to help solve a problem or organize a task. In addition to the great work Elaine completes, she is a kind, thoughtful person. She is a real asset to the special education team at El Camino Creek.

Prior to her work for the district, Elaine was an active parent volunteer for Ocean Knoll School. She demonstrated great organizational skills as both a committee chair and room parent. She was responsible for the jog-a-thon, newsletter, directory, and field day. She was honored as Ocean Knoll's Volunteer of the Year in 1995 and received the Ocean Knoll Founder's Day award in 1997.
