Susan Badgley has been selected as the Classified Employee of the Year.  Susan has been an exemplary employee in the district for the past seven years.  As the "voice of the district," Susan is often the first impression people gain about the Encinitas Union School District through initial phone contact or walk-in contact with her. Strong people skills have served Susan well as she has proven herself more than capable of working effectively with staff and the general public. Her friendly, positive, personable, and courteous manner is engaging. Staff, new applicants, and the public find her helpful and responsive. Her strong interpersonal skills make her very approachable. Her empathetic manner helps temper stressful situations and goes hand-in-hand with her positive and compassionate manner. She is a team player and continues to be a positive role model for our entire staff.

Susan’s primary concern is ensuring all classrooms throughput the district are filled with a highly qualified substitute teacher in the absence of the regular teacher. In this capacity, she has been responsible for managing our automated substitute teacher calling system that provides substitute support for five school districts including Solana Beach, Del Mar, Cardiff, Rancho Santa Fe, and Encinitas. In addition, she is responsible for the hiring process of substitutes in our district which requires her to possess expertise in the area of California teaching credentials. She also assists with our Workers Comp division and effectively manages the U.S. and District mail.

Each of the Classified Employees of the Year personifies the high quality of employee in the Encinitas Union School District.  Moreover, their selection reflects the high regard their peers have for them and their contributions to the site and District. Congratulations to all!
