Principal's Message

Dear Mission Estancia Elementary School Community,

I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself and share my sincere pleasure about being selected as your new principal.  It is apparent that Mission Estancia Elementary enjoys a strong culture dedicated to student learning, parent involvement, instructional excellence and community partnerships.  It is my intent to continue to foster these important traditions, practices and relationships committed to providing our students the best.  I am truly honored to become a member of this great school community and am excited to collaborate with Mission Estancia’s  talented staff to offer the finest educational program for our school.

I look forward to providing my leadership and professional knowledge to continue to build academic excellence at Mission Estancia.  I have served as an assistant principal, central office intervention coordinator and as a lead elementary coordinator for a State wide program out of the County office.  I am a certified trainer in several effective research based literacy, writing and English Language Development programs.  I bring over a decade of successful professional development experience training new teachers, veteran staff, and university faculty.  Committed to teaching excellence, I earned National Board Certification in 2001 and have taught at the elementary and university level.  I am dedicated to learning about my field and hold a bachelor degree, masters in curriculum and instruction, and a doctorate in educational leadership.  I look forward to sharing my experiences and passion for education with the Mission Estancia community. 

 My greatest initiative is to provide instructional leadership that will facilitate a school climate that promotes high expectations and success for all students.  I will make certain that Mission Estancia students are provided effective research based instruction, challenging academic content and the necessary supports to be successful.  It is my sincere desire to create opportunities for our students to gain the skills of how to think, because this ability will be invaluable in our rapidly changing society.  Parents, teachers, support staff, and administration all play a critical role in giving our children academic excellence.  I will ensure that there are opportunities for all of us to work together to support our children’s learning.  Through a close partnership, I am positive we can make our school an even a better place for our students to learn and grow.
