Flora Vista has been named a 2008 California Distinguished Elementary School by the California Department of Education!  Jack O'Connell, State Superintendent of Public Instruction announced the official results of Flora Vista's site validation on April 9, 2008.  Representatives from the California Department of Education and the San Diego County Office of Education conducted a site visitation on March 17, 2008 to validate Flora Vista's application.  The site visitation consisted of classroom observations, review of documentation and evidence and interviews with EUSD leadership, school staff, students and parents.
