to Flora Vista Elementary School, recognized three times as a
California Distinguished
School by the California Department of
Education and once by the California School Boards Association as a
Golden Bell Award
recipient. Flora Vista opened in July,
1979 and is one of nine award-winning elementary schools located in the heart of the Encinitas Union
School District. Flora Vista's
attendance area serves several neighborhoods in the Village Park area in the city of
