District English Learners Advisory Committee (DELAC)
The purpose of the DELAC includes:
Advise the Encinitas Union School District Superintendent and Governing Board regarding the DELAC’s plan for services for English Learners.
Conduct on-going review of the DELAC plan and recommend modifications in the plan to reflect changing needs and priorities.
Have ongoing responsibility to review with district personnel the implementation of programs for English Learners and to monitor the effectiveness of the plan through staff reports provided by staff.
Take other actions as required by the Education Code.
Other Duties
Develop and deliver annual reports to the Superintendent and Board on the status of programs for English Learners and the functioning of ELAC and the DELAC.
Elect one or more representative to appropriate advisory committees.
Receive annual reports detailing the status of compliance with state and federal requirements.
