SUPERVISOR - MAINTENANCE, OPERATIONS
AND GROUNDS

DEFINITION:

Under general direction of the Assistant Superintendent Administrative Services, plan, coordinate and direct the maintenance, grounds and custodial operations of the District; to coordinate and supervise the work of maintenance operations personnel; and to do other related work as required.

DUTIES:

Coordinates and supervises the work of maintenance, grounds, custodial, lead persons and other department personnel; arranges work schedules for emergency, routine and periodic maintenance; assists in the interviewing of custodial, grounds and maintenance applicants; inspects, checks and trains for proper utilization of time, material and equipment; evaluates assigned personnel; serves as departmental liaison with school administrators in discussing schedules, problems and services; recommends priorities; estimates labor, time and material costs; maintains records and prepares reports; assists in the development and monitoring of the departmental budget; develops and maintains adequate safety standards; serves as safety inspector, chairs district safety committee; supervises disaster preparedness planning; serves as hazardous materials coordinator; provides leadership with correct pest management methods; maintains inventory of equipment and materials; maintains an effective program of substitute employees for departmental personnel; coordinates departmental projects with outside contractors; serves as resource to staff and community, advises district sports council; interprets personnel policies and procedures for departmental personnel; may investigate and adjust employee grievances.
