SKILLED MAINTENANCE WORKER

DEFINITION:

Under general supervision, performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, repair and construction tasks in the upkeep of site facilities; performs semi-skilled and skilled functions in one or more of the basic building and maintenance trades; and does other related work as assigned.

DUTIES:

This employee is required to perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance repair and construction work in one or more of the building mechanical or technical trades. May be required to do carpentry, painting, plumbing, heating, electrical, tile flooring, ceiling, masonry, glazing, welding work and other related areas. May load and transport equipment, make minor adjustments and keep equipment in good repair. May evaluate job requests and may recommend or order specific materials. Perform moderate or heavy labor as required, may assist in custodial duties; may assist in moving on track change days and perform other duties as requested.
