
DEFINITION:
Under supervision, do a wide variety of clerical work.
DUTIES:
Performs a wide variety of clerical tasks, including typing, check, proofreading, filing, recording information on records, compiling information for and making reports and summaries; answers telephone and waits on public; maintains files and records, personally collects required information; operates office machines; composes simple or routine letters independently; receives, sorts, and distributes mail; makes appointments; maintains permanent student records, including recording grades and test scores, averaging grades and sending and receiving transcripts; receives monies for fees, accounts for funds and prepares deposits; may do some financial recordkeeping; types requisitions; receives, shelves, and distributes supplies; may prepare materials for bulletin boards, doing simple art work; performs as receptionist during receptionist;s break and lunch periods on a regular schedule. Performs other related work as assigned.
