
DEFINITION:
Under general supervision, performs specialized, responsible clerical work related to the purchase of equipment and supplies.
DUTIES:
Screens requisitions from schools and departments to add or revise data to conform to contract or marketing terminology; may assist with bid process; screens prices (estimated and actual) for budgeting and accounting purposes; prepares and encumbers purchase orders; reviews and files price changes; communicates with vendors to determine costs and purchase terms most advantageous to the District; records partial deliveries and other pertinent information; works with accounts payable clerk to resolve discrepancies in purchase orders and/or invoices; researchs records and prepares answers to inquiries from teachers, vendors and the public; conducts follow-ups on outstanding purchase orders; carries out procedural steps to ensure ordering and delivery of purchases; may prepare Board reports and answer routine correspondence; performs clerical work including data entry, maintains vendor file, types correspondence, receives and sorts mail; perform related duties as assigned.
