
DEFINITION
Under the general supervision of the Assistant Superintendent, Educational Services, the Administrator of Special Programs supervises all English Language Acquisition Programs, Title I, Migrant, regular education summer school, and parent education.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises all English Language Acquisition Programs, Title I, Migrant, regular education summer school, and other programs as appropriate;
Plans and implements Parent Education for Title I, GATE, English Language Programs and Migrant Education as well as be a resource to the school principals for Parent Education Programs;
Supervises the school site Intervention/Retention Programs;
Provides professional development for staff in instructional strategies and innovative;
Works directly with principals and serves as a coach to the principals in carrying out their duties respective of low performing students;
Writes grants to enhance the programs for low performing and English Language Learners;
Serves as a liaison for special programs with other groups and agencies outside the District; and
Plans and implements the CBET Parent English Language Institutes;
Gathers data and presents reports to Management Team, the Board of Trustees, and other groups;
Assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent.
QUALIFICATION GUIDE

ABILITY TO:
Read, interpret and apply complex rules, and regulations.
Communicate effectively with staff, parents, school sites, community members, government agencies.
Coordinate a variety of activities at different sites.
Coach staff.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Valid California Administrative Credential
Valid California Elementary Teaching Credential
Possession of a Master's Degree or higher
Evidence of five years successful teaching experience at the K-6 grade level
Experience working with English Language Learners, Title I, Migrant Education programs, and/or other programs designed to meet the needs of low performing students
