Paul Ecke/Pacific View School was selected as a California Distinguished school during the following years:
1985, 1987, 1989, 1993, & 1997 |
Initiated in 1985, the California Distinguished Schools Program honors elementary and secondary schools in alternate years. The schools selected as 1997 Distinguished Schools were honored for serving as outstanding examples of successful teaching and learning, high standards for all students, strong family and community involvement, partnerships with the business community, safe and clean school environments, and modern technology.
This Distinguished School honor is extended to select schools in the state of California. In order to receive this award, the school staff must complete an extensive application indicating how the school meets specified criteria. Through a thorough review of these applications, the top schools are selected for a site visit by a review team. Approximately 225 schools from all elementary schools in the state of California are award this honor ever other year. Once selected as a California Distinguished School, the school cannot apply again for four years.

California School Board Association Golden Bell Award |
The Golden Bell Awards program promotes excellence in education by recognizing outstanding programs throughout California.
Paul Ecke/Pacific View School received this award in the area of science for their "Students + Science = Service Program. This program develops a dynamic learning process in science education. By breaking down the classroom walls, students move into the community and, under the guidance of their teachers and local experts, make science relevant to their everyday lives.

Paul Ecke Endowment
In February of 1987 an endowment was established for Paul Ecke Central school by Mr. Paul Ecke Sr.
In a letter written to establish the endowment, Mr. Ecke stated that he would like to set-up a $100,000 endowment for the school due to the fact that his three children attended the school and that the school was officially named after him.
Each year the school receives the annual interest from this endowment. |
